IFR Studio in Bellaire Michigan used to be known as Runyan Media Recording Studio. I changed the name because I am now involved with so many different aspects of music production that I felt the need to compartmentalize things a little. I work out of two studios these days, both having different purposes and colors.
IFR is a 4 room facility with excellent isolation and an "Up North" kind of feel. The live room is like a comfortable living room complete with a huge sectional couch! The drum isolation room has been described by many drummers as "the best sounding drum room in Northern Michigan". The vocal room has a very balanced sound and works well for acoustic guitars as well. Each room, including the control room, has direct visibility to each other. A complete band can be performing live easily seeing each other and still obtain the necessary sonic isolation that leads to great recordings.
IFR Studio is a great place to write, rehearse, and record. Sometimes all it takes is the right mixture of these three elements to take songs that have been bouncing around inside your head and bring them to the next level, for everyone to enjoy.
The heart of the studio is the huge quad processor custom built windows computer loaded with Sonar software and hundres of plugins, including Waves, Antarees (AutoTune), and many others. The interface is a MOTU 24 i/o paired up with focusrite mic-pres.
If you are looking for a top notch, full blown Pro Tools experience then we can easily work on your project at Rolling Thunder Studios in Traverse City.
